ISLAMABAD: Tensions between Pakistan and India have once again come into sharp focus as Islamabad issued a stern warning against what it called any form of “adventurism,” while strongly condemning recent remarks by an Indian minister on the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a strongly worded statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Office rejected the minister’s comments as “provocative, irresponsible, and contrary to international law,” asserting that such rhetoric threatens regional peace and stability. Officials reiterated that Kashmir remains an internationally recognized dispute that must be resolved in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The Foreign Office cautioned India against pursuing aggressive policies or making inflammatory statements, warning that any attempt to undermine regional security would be met with vigilance. It emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to peace but is fully prepared to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Pakistan also urged the international community to take notice of what it described as escalating rhetoric and actions that could further destabilize South Asia. Officials stressed that meaningful dialogue and adherence to international obligations are the only viable path toward lasting peace in the region.
The latest diplomatic exchange adds to the longstanding tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, with Kashmir continuing to remain one of the most sensitive and contentious issues in bilateral relations.
